wp core has only ten subcommands. Alone, each one does little. The power is in the sequence.
Next release? Test it on staging first: wp core download –version=nightly –path=staging
A safe core update is one block, six commands, in this order:
- wp core version
- wp core check-update
- wp db export
- wp core update
- wp core update-db
- wp core verify-checksums
Backup → update → schema → verify. (Production 7.1.2 → 7.1.3, the latest maintenance and security release.)
Core files changed after an incident? Prove it with verify-checksums, replace core with wp core download –force –skip-content, then prove it again.
Practice Cases: real workflows built with WP-CLI commands — not isolated examples, but full sequences that solve actual problems. We built a WP-CLI practice terminal: real commands, real feedback. Break nothing.
