A theme is often two themes. Know which one is live.
wp theme list shows it: the child is “active”, the theme it builds on is “parent”.
Theme maintenance is one block:
- wp db export
- wp theme update –all –dry-run
- wp theme update base-theme — update the parent, the child keeps your changes
- wp theme delete twentytwentythree twentytwentyfour — delete unused defaults
- wp theme list — keep one default as a fallback
Multisite: enable once with wp theme enable –network, activate where needed with –url, then audit every site in one loop and spot the odd one.
Practice Cases: real workflows built with WP-CLI commands — not isolated examples, but full sequences that solve actual problems. We built a WP-CLI practice terminal. Break nothing.
